To use Building Spares Market, you need to Register an Account. This only takes about 1 minute.

Once you’ve registered an account, you can:

  • List an item for sale yourself
  • Send a message to someone selling something you’d like to buy

How to List an Item for Sale

To list an item for sale, log into your account and click on Post an Advert in the main menu. Fill in the post an advert form. You just need to provide a few details and then click submit. It takes about 2 minutes, and then your advert is automatically uploaded to the marketplace.

How to Purchase an Item

If you want to buy something from the market, you can send a message to the person selling it. Log in to your account, and go to the advert page. Click on Send Private Message, and fill in the form to send the person a message. It only takes about 1 minute.

After you’ve sent the person a message, you can make your own private arrangement with them.

All purchases are a private arrangement between the buyer and the seller using the platform. Building Spares Market acts as a connecting platform.

How will I know if someone sends me a message about an item I’ve listed?

You’ll always receive an email notification if someone sends you a message about your item.

How do I change an advert after I’ve posted it?

You can change or delete an advert after you’ve posted it in your account profile. Go to your account page, click on Listings and choose Manage Listings.

Where do I post an advert? I can’t find the page

Th Post an Advert page is in the main menu. On desktop, click on Post an Advert in the green header. On mobile, click on the three dashes at the top to open the menu, and then go to Post an Advert.

You need to register an account and be logged in before you can post an advert.

Will I receive lots of annoying emails?

We only send you emails if we have to. We send emails during registration, when you receive a message from another user or for certain important account change notifications.
